What factors may determine the selection of a specific cage material and lubrication method for 6900 series deep groove ball bearings?

The operating environment temperature of 6900 series deep groove ball bearings is critical to the selection of cage materials. For example, brass cages are generally suitable for environments with a wide temperature range due to their good thermal stability and strength. Nylon cages are suitable for lower temperature ranges and have light weight and good corrosion resistance.
The cage needs to have sufficient strength, wear resistance and impact toughness. Metal cages, such as steel and brass, generally have high strength and hardness and can withstand large mechanical stresses. Non-metallic materials such as nylon may have better elasticity and fatigue resistance and are suitable for applications that require light weight.
The cage material must be compatible with the lubricant used. Different lubricants may contain different additives that may corrode or degrade certain cage materials. Therefore, when selecting a cage material, it is necessary to understand its compatibility with the intended lubricant. In some special working environments, such as corrosive environments or vacuum conditions, it is necessary to select a cage material with special properties. For example, high-performance materials such as polyetheretherketone and polytetrafluoroethylene have good corrosion resistance and are suitable for corrosive environments.
The selection of cage materials also needs to consider cost and production efficiency. Metal cages usually have a higher initial cost, but may have a longer service life and lower maintenance costs. Non-metallic cages may have a lower initial cost, but may require more frequent replacement.
The speed of the bearing is one of the key factors in choosing the lubrication method. High-speed bearings require better heat dissipation and lubrication effects, so oil lubrication methods such as circulation lubrication or oil injection lubrication are usually used. These lubrication methods can provide a continuous supply of lubricating oil and temperature control to ensure the stability and life of the bearing at high speeds.
Bearings that carry heavy loads require stronger lubrication to reduce friction and wear. Therefore, for heavy-loaded bearings, circulation lubrication systems or oil injection lubrication are more suitable choices. These lubrication methods can provide higher lubricating oil pressure and flow to ensure stable operation of bearings under heavy load conditions.
The working environment temperature also has an important impact on the choice of lubrication method. Oil lubrication has a self-cooling function and can provide better heat dissipation in high temperature environments. Therefore, in high temperature environments, oil lubrication is a more suitable choice. Grease lubrication has better sealing and anti-fouling properties, and can prevent lubrication failure caused by temperature rise to a certain extent.
In dusty or harsh environments, grease lubrication can better prevent impurities from entering the bearing and protect the bearing from contamination and wear. In situations where cleanliness or lubricant leakage must be maintained, such as food processing equipment or medical equipment, it may be necessary to consider a more closed lubrication method, such as oil mist lubrication or circulating lubrication.
